Wayne Cable: Technical Official of the 1st Quarter 2026
Wayne joined Mandurah Masters in 2005. He has served on the management committee for almost all the years since, including terms as President. He currently serves on the management committee in the role of the club’s Director of Coaching, a role he has held previously.
His main focus over the years has been open water swimming, and he has competed in open water swim events ranging from Argyle Dam to Denmark. He is often in or around water and if not competing he can be found at Doddi’s Beach fine-tuning his stroke or on deck coaching.
Wayne is an enthusiastic supporter of Masters Swimming and Mandurah Masters. That enthusiasm has led to him being awarded Life Membership of the club. He is also the recipient of the Perc Edwards Volunteer of the Year.
Now retired, Wayne has committed to become a Technical Officer and has undertaken the early stages of the accreditation pathway and officiates at pool and open water events. He attends most of the professional development sessions conducted in Perth. On the back of 45 hours officiating in 2025, he has started 2026 equally strongly.
Wayne is a quiet achiever who is a great asset to the club and Masters Swimming.
