Wave start groupings will be determined by entry numbers. All age categories will be determined based on age on the day. Swimmers aged 9 must be accompanied in the 400m swim by a chaperone aged 18 or over.
All age categories will be determined based on age on the day (ie. 02/03/2024). Please note that parents or guardians of swimmers under the age of 18 must sign an Event Waiver and Terms form for all entrants.
Competitors in the MSWA State Open Water event age will be determined as per rule: GR 6.2 For all purposes pertaining to World Masters Records, World Masters swim meets, and all sanctioned swim meets and records, the actual attained age of the swimmer shall be determined as of 31st December of the year of competition.

400m Course
The 400m course is the perfect opportunity for anyone to experience open water swimming. Competitors must be a minimum of nine years old to participate in this course.

1.6km Course
Our 1.6km course offers two waves: the Act Belong Commit Masters Swimming WA State Championships wave and a public wave.
To join the Act Belong Commit Masters Swimming WA State Championships wave, participants must be current financial members of a Masters Swimming WA club.
For the public wave, participants must be at least eleven years old.
