2021 Australian Masters Games – Swimming

October 9 - October 11

Created by the Confederation of Australian Sport in 1987, the Australian Masters Games is a week-long festival of sport that brings together weekend warriors from around Australia, and the world, to enjoy an extensive sport and social program in an exciting holiday destination.

9.00am – 4.00pm each day (warm-ups from 8.30am)

Games Entry Fee

$115 per person or $105 per person for people aged 70+
(the above entry fees will increase to $145 and $135 respectively as at 31 July 2021)

Sport Entry Fee

Masters Swimming Australia Member (incl pool entry): $75 per person
Non-Masters Swimming Australia Member (incl pool entry): $85 per person

Age Requirements

Age determined at 31 December 2021
Minimum age 18 years on day of competition

  • E1 – 100m Freestyle
  • E2 – 400m IM
  • E3 – 200m Backstroke
  • E4 – 200m Breaststroke
  • E5 – 50m Backstroke
  • E6 – 50m Butterfly
  • E7 – 4x50m Freestyle Relay Female
  • E8 – 4x50m Freestyle Relay Male

Day 2

  • E9 – 400m Freestyle
  • E10 – 100m Backstroke
  • E11 – 100m Breaststroke
  • E12 – 200m Butterfly
  • E13 – 4 x 50m Freestyle Mixed Relay
  • E14 – 4 x 50m Medley Relay Mixed

Day 3

  • E15 – 200m Freestyle
  • E16 – 100m Butterfly
  • E17 200m IM
  • E18 50m Breaststroke
  • E19 50m Freestyle
  • E20 4 x 50m Medley Relay Female
  • E21 4 x 50m Medley Relay Male

Additional Information

  • All races will compete over the long course format (50m)
  • Masters Swimming Australia Rules as at close of entries will apply
  • As part of the registration process, each participant will need to nominate event times to enable organisers to seed each competitor in heats
  • Participants may enter a maximum of three (3) individual events per day (excluding relays) and up to a total of 9 (nine) individual events (excluding relays) over the course of the Games
  • Participants may be limited to fewer events if the number of entries is high
  • To ensure the swimming program meets pool space availability times, the organisers reserve the right to cap the number of entries for each event. If a cap on entries is required, the affected athletes will be advised of the change to their program as soon as possible
  • Medals will be awarded for each age group, gender and event

Relays:

  • Participants should indicate their availability for relays during the registration process
  • Non-members may also indicate their availability for relays
  • Relays teams from Masters Swimming Clubs will be called for after the close of Individual entries through the use of Team Manager
  • Relay teams for Non-Members will try to be accommodated. Participants will be notified after the close of Individual Entries
  • Mixed relay teams are to consist of two male and two female swimmers.
  • Participating swimmers may only swim once in each relay event and must have entered at least one individual event.
