At Master Swimming WA, we believe competition should be fun, inclusive and open to everyone. That is why we endorse the Act Belong Commit Club Challenge Series Meet. Throughout the year, swimmers of all abilities are given the chance to race, challenge themselves and represent their clubs in a friendly and supportive environment. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, love a bit of club rivalry, or just enjoy the buzz of a carnival atmosphere, there is a lane for you.
Point System
Every swim counts at interclub meets, you’ll race against swimmers of a similar pace, not just your age and gender. Your time is recorded and compared within your five – year age group (18 -24, 25- 29 and so forth.)
Points are awarded from fastest to slowest, and the tailed to determine:
- The club with the most points overall, and
- The club with the highest average points per swimmer.
it is all about teamwork, spirit and having fun while doing your best in the pool.
Carnival Relays
There’s nothing like the excitement of a relay. Each carnival includes relay events where teams of four swimmers from each club compete together. Relay teams are grouped by their combined ages, with categories ranging from: 72 – 119, 120 – 159, 160 – 199, 200 – 239, 240 – 279, 280 – 319, and 320 – 359.
Challenge Events
Challenge events are all about personal improvement and participation. While the emphasis is on club entries, individual members can also take part (at the discretion of the host club). Each swimmer usually chooses up to three individual events, with the goal of improving their personal best times and gaining experience in a relaxed, supportive environment. Simply let your club captain know which events you’d like to enter.
Distance Meet
Love the longer stuff? Distance Meets focus on endurance events over 400m, 800, and 1500m distances – held in both short course and long course pools. These are perfect for swimmers who enjoy pacing themselves, building stamina and setting nre long distance goals.
