Coach Professional Development Opportunities
Thanks to support from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC), MSWA are pleased to provide a series of free coach development clinics for our wonderful MSWA coaches.
Off the back of our incredibly popular coach conference held in early October we are lucky enough to have Ryan Spencer back to run four one of sessions for coaches to enhance their skills at HBF Stadium.
Ryan Spencer | Coach Rockingham Swimming Club
Ryan is a highly accomplished and dedicated head coach with a deep passion for swimming. Formerly from South Africa, he started and ran his own business for 8 years working in Sports Specific Strength and Conditioning as well as swimming club and school programs.
Ryan currently leads up the Nationals squad at the Rockingham Swim Club, with an experience coaching team, spreading his expertise across all squads.
Ryan has seen much success at State, National and International Level and as an ex-Champion himself in IM and breaststroke, Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

This session will focus on foundational training methods specific to the needs of masters swimmers. Key areas include:

Clinic 2: Pacing, Sun, 01/12/24 at 11:30 – 12:45
This clinic will build the coaches’ ability to train their swimmers for optimal race pacing:

Clinic 3: Turns, Sun, 02/02/25 at 13:15 – 14:30
Turns are critical for race success, especially in short-course swimming. This clinic will focus on teaching coaches how to improve their swimmers’ turns.
